Corn Na Og 1st Game 5/11/11

Inis Eoghain 0-07 v Omagh CBS 5-14
Omagh CBS got their Corn na nOg campaign off to a winning start with an easy victory over Inis Eoghain at sunny Hibernian Park in Burt, Co Donegal, on Saturday afternoon.
Three first half goals from Ciaran McCormick, Brendan McGrath and Aidan Fullerton gave the visitors a commanding lead as they totally dominated the first half. The home side failed to score until the eighteenth minute and trailed at half time by 3-07 to 0-02. A second goal from half forward Fullerton, who was in super form throughout, immediately after the restart, meant there was going to be no comeback as CBS continued to pile on the agony with Ciaran McGlinchey grabbing the fifth goal for the Brothers.
In total, ten of the Omagh players managed to get their name on the score sheet in a comprehensive performance for the CBS boys. The Inis Eoghain boys just could not find the form, which they had hoped for on home soil and heads dropped after falling behind to the two early goals. They succeeded in adding three points in the last ten minutes, but there was just no way through the well marshalled Omagh defence. McDermott and captain Murray stood out in particular, whilst full back Eoghan Keenan made a confident debut at full back in the maroon jersey.
Omagh CBS: C Gilespie, N Murray, E Keenan, D McDermott, J Harkin, E Murray (0-03), R Slevin (0-01) , Cahir Moss (0-01), C McCormick (1-00), A McGrath (0-03), A Fullerton (2-01), C Loughran (0-01), B McGrath (1-00), C Moss , O Donnelly (0-02).
Subs: T Dolan for N Murray; R McCusker (0-02) for Caolan Moss; C McGlinchey (1-00) for C Loughran,
Referee: Paddy McGonagle.
