What is it really like on your first few days at Omagh CBS?

Oisin's First Impressions

Conor's First Impressions

My First Impressions by Oisin Donnelly
My journey of the Christian Brothers Grammar began on the 2nd September 2010 in Main Street, Beragh at 8:30 am. This morning was really strange because from Beragh to Omagh is really quite short only about 20 minutes but that particular morning the journey seemed to take forever, probably because of the nerves .

When I arrived in Omagh I had to walk from the bus depot to my new school and as I entered the big unfamiliar gates there was a tingling of anticipation through my body. Anyway as I arrived all of the students were taken into the assembly hall, there we were split into classes and met our new form teacher Mrs. Rogan.

Next we met our new friends during an icebreaker activity.   It was really exciting. Mrs. Rogan gave us a tour of the school to let us become familiar with our new surroundings it was really helpful. Then at lunch we got free chips and sausages it was delicious. Then at 3:15 we were taken down to the bus depot with Mrs. Rogan and that was officially the end of my first day at Omagh CBS.

On Monday 6th September my first real school week began I enjoyed the subjects especially those that I didn’t get the chance to experience in primary school. I really like P.E. I found finding my classrooms quite easy as they are all in numbered in order. I also got to meet my new teachers they are very nice and helpful.

On the 8th September there was a school mass in the Sacred Heart Church in Omagh for every student and teacher. It was really good as we all got to gather as a school for the first time.

On the 2nd September 2010 I was filled with nerve and excitement. I saw lots of teachers and students. After a brief talk by the principal we went to our new class and our new form teacher, Mrs. Rogan, she was great.

Then it was off for lunch. We got a free dinner and it was lovely! Then our form teacher took us around the school. Over all my first day at the CBS was amazing!

My first impressions of my subjects were incredible! The teachers were so helpful kind, and generous. My favourite subjects would be Science, History and P.E. The teachers were always there to help if you were stuck.
