On Wednesday 9th October 9E went to a trip to Bank of Ireland Omagh. We arrived at around 9:00 and we were introduced to one of the Bank managers Hilary and some of the team. We were split into two groups. My group went to the ATM machine first of all. We got to see how the ATM was loaded up, where fake or dud credit cards go, some of the security devices fitted to the machine and the trays full of money. In one tray alone there was £40,000 pounds worth of £20 pounds notes. We then went to see the tills. We got to see how the money was counted using super-fast machines and we also got to view the cupboards full of money for the customers. We then went into the room where the three safes are and that was really interesting. We then went upstairs and did some tasks to do with the daily foreign exchange rates. We then got some light refreshments before returning to school. Overall we had an very enjoyable and interesting morning.
